Sometimes in his providence God takes us through storms that wreck our hopes. He has lessons to teach us that can only be learned by passing through trouble. Furthermore, these storms we have to weather are often due to our own sin, or the sins of others perpetrated against us. There's plenty of both going on in this latter half of Genesis 37. In the midst of and above it all, however, God's good plan of redemption continues to move forward.
