Suffering has a way of turning us inward. We become so focused on ourselves and our despair that we can lose sight of the needy people around us, and even lose track of our faith. The Lord graciously gave Joseph the strength to serve others in spite of his suffering, and we can do the same, because Christ's strength is made perfect in our weaknesses, and we have His promise that he will not forget us.
